Incident Command System
Purpose: During a state-level agricultural emergency incident, the agency follows the Incident Command System (ICS). However, few employees outside of the Emergency Programs Division understand how ICS works. This training course acts as an introduction to both new and established employees, from entry level to executive level, to increase the efficiency needed during an emergency. As a result of this training, employees will follow the Chain of Command and complete incident-related responsibilities during an emergency. The course was assigned virtually in the LMS to limit disruption to the flow of business and to allow annual reassignment.

IFARM- Technology Use
Purpose: Employees must log time and tasks in a specialized platform during an agricultural emergency incident. Due to the unpredictable nature of emergencies and the urgency that limits time for immediate training, employees are assigned this course to complete within 72 hours of their IFARM account activation for the specific incident. This training course acts as just-in-time training for both new and established employees, from entry level to executive level. As a result of this training, employees gain the basic skills needed to use the platform to correctly enter essential incident-related information. The online delivery allows attention to remain on the emergency response as a large number of individuals must be trained at unpredictable intervals within two weeks. It also eliminates the need to secure an in-person facilitator for individual or small-group trainings that are not usually feasible during an emergency.
